马来西亚冼都警区主任马永来助理总监在现场指出，警方初步调查显示，此不法集团曾在其他地方设立大本营进行非法网络赌博活动，不过3个月前转移阵地，以每月1800令吉租下此公寓单位。

他说，警方是于今天上午11时45分，根据情报突击冼都东区某公寓一间单位，当场逮捕5名年龄介于24至27岁的男子，并起获3台手提电脑及15台手机。

他指出，一并被捕的主管24岁，警方正在追查此不法集团幕后操控者的身份，目前援引1953年公开场所赌博法令第4（1）（g）条文调查此案。
